Puppeteer Varun Narain
Varun Narain is a queer artist and puppeteer who believes in blurring boundaries. They tell stories about queerness, survival and colonial history through the eyes of non human characters. Among other things, Varun teaches and takes workshops on using puppetry as a tool to raise issues about stereotypes and prejudices. Varun was the first Indian Performance Artist in Residence in Switzerland facilitated by Prohelvetia, The Swiss Arts Council, Nw Delhi. They has trained and studied under the Master puppeteer Neville Tranter. Varun has also worked at the Royal Tropical Theatre in Amsterdam, using puppetry for HIV AIDS awareness in the city of Amsterdam.
